Soccer Season Wrapup

Logan wasn't sure he wanted to play soccer this year,
but it turned out to be a great season.
They had a great coach, he knew some boys on the
team and made some new friends too.

Logan had never really played goalie very much before,
but this year he played goalie one half of each game.
His team was very good and during some games the
ball didn't come anywhere near his end of the field.

Probably not the best way to play goalie,
but yes these pictures were taken during the game.

One of the new friends Logan made on the team was Devon.
They discovered early on in the season they were both LDS and bonded quickly.
After each goal the team made they would run up to each other - belly bump
and then do "The Bernie".  It was fun to look for it after every goal.

Team cheer before the game.
They were LOUD!

The team was lucky enough to make the playoffs.
Their 1st playoff game ended in a tie, but it couldn't be left at a tie because the 2nd playoff game was determined by who won/lost the 1st game.  To determine the winner they had 5 boys from each team kick a goal kick with just the goalie to defend the ball.  I was freaking out when Logan was chosen to be the goalie.

The team is trying to pump him up,
but he's already feeling the pressure.

Devon's dad loves to take pictures at the games and sent us
these fun shots of Logan in action.

He was so happy and relieved when he caught this goal!
They won the game!!
The team was very cute about cheering for Logan and
placing a Burger King crown on his head.

Logan was disappointed when they didn't win the final playoff game.
I was just relieved there wasn't another tie.
They ended up in 2nd place for the season.
Great job Rampage!!

Ward Halloween Fun

Kaitlyn and her friends decided to be the characters from their favorite book - Divergent - for Halloween.  Much too difficult to explain it all, but basically she was a hippie (didn't her homemade skirt turn out cute).

Logan was a secret agent/spy...007 kind of guy.
He looked very handsome in his tuxedo.

Mike was dressed up as Mike :)

Logan with his buddies...Mallory the sweet lookin' cowgirl, Lauren the very cool Katniss from Hunger Games and Jaxson the reluctant yet cute pirate.

Kaitlyn with her friends from Divergent...
Madisen from Erudite, Paige from Dauntless, Kaitlyn from Amity and Madalyn from Candor - again too hard to explain what all that means, but just very cute girls that love to read, share books and had fun coming up with their costumes together!

Sewing 101

When Kaitlyn was trying to figure out what to wear for her Halloween costume this year she couldn't find a skirt that she thought would work.  We had recently talked about her learning how to sew for a Personal Progress goal so we decided her Halloween costume would be the perfect opportunity.

Kaitlyn was meant to sew from a very young age - she even assisted me in her sleep :)

(when I tell people I held Kaitlyn all the time when she was a baby I'm really not joking - its a miracle the girl can walk.)

Can't explain why I did this - I think she wanted to "help" and it was the only way I could keep her fingers away from the needle - still I must have been a little crazy.

So a couple of weeks ago we set off to Joannes to buy some fabric.

Kaitlyn was very excited to learn how to sew and did a great job on her skirt!
She was happy with the finished product and is ready to make another one soon.

You'll have to wait until our Halloween pictures to see the finished product.
