She Did It!

Kaitlyn is one happy girl!
The big day finally arrived...

High School Graduation

Class of 2015

Shaking hands with the principal - could that smile be any bigger.

After she got her diploma she walked over and shook hands with Mr. Ting - her orchestra teacher for the last 7 years (middle school and high school).  We will really miss her orchestra concerts - they were always great!

Deer Valley just had the track redone in the stadium so nobody was allowed to walk on the track or stay inside the stadium for pictures.  So we have lovely pictures afterwards that are too dark and a parking lot for our background.

Grandma Jackie with Kaitlyn.

with Grandma and Grandpa Gwilliam

Uncle Scott came to help celebrate too!

Kaitlyn will think I have too many pictures on this post,
but it was a big day and we are all so excited for her.

Congratulations Kaitlyn!

on to grad night to party the night away

Mormon Prom

Kaitlyn couldn't find an outfit she liked this year so we decided to make one.
We made a black tulle skirt.
As usual it turned out to be more work than we thought it would be, but it turned out pretty well.

We had a group from the ward over for dinner before the dance.

After dinner we had a photo shoot in the backyard.

Easter

Started the celebrating Saturday night with dyeing our Easter eggs.
(btw - Logan wasn't in the mood to have his picture taken tonight)

Kaitlyn went with an emoji theme for her Easter eggs this year.

Easter morning treats from the Easter bunny.

I was so happy to have a few bushes and trees to have
an outdoor Easter egg hunt this year.  Want a lot more
bushes and trees, but atleast it was better than nothing.

Goodbye Shelly

This cute picture was taken in 2003 when we got our new pet tortoises - Tomy and Shelly.

Who knew those cute little things would last so long and eat so much of our backyard.
No, Shelly did not die, but we decided it was time to get rid of atleast one of our pet turtles.
Before the new owners came to pick it up I had to recreate the picture of Kaitlyn and Logan with their pets.  All four of them have grown and changed a ton in the last 12 years.

It was another great year of Young Women's Volleyball.
So sad that it is Kaitlyn's last year of volleyball.

Logan had a great time playing on the school volleyball team this year.
He couldn't have been more excited when their team won the championship!

Senior Project

Kaitlyn started her senior project with Grandma's help.
She has to learn or teach a new skill that is service related.
Kaitlyn's plan is to make scent dolls for premature babies.

Grandpa even helped out with the project.

Kaitlyn did a great job with her project - I just wish I had
taken a picture of one of the dolls before she sent them off to Kaiser Hospital.

"Kaitlyn's Car!"

Just like most teenagers Kaitlyn started asking for a car when she was 15 - using many different tactics!

As Mike would tell you we didn't buy Kaitlyn a car, but Mike and Karol bought a car that Kaitlyn uses :)

Mike and Kaitlyn looked around a little bit at cars, but we didn't work that hard at it.  Mike found one he liked, but it was a stick shift.  That made Kaitlyn and I nervous so we passed.

A few weeks later Mike was getting work done on his car and they had one for sale that Mike really liked.  An older lady was selling it and had a folder that she kept all the information of what had been done on it.  The price was right, good condition - stick shift again.  I still wasn't sure so Mike and I went and test drove it without saying anything to Kaitlyn.  We decided to go for it and brought it home to surprise her.

She was a little excited as you can see...

The next day she was driving in the church parking lot.  Two days later out on the rode.  Within 2 weeks she was driving to seminary and school with no problem.  Now she drives everywhere and loves it.  She looks awfully cute in "our" car!!
