Baseball - Opening Day

Due to the weather the parade was moved inside.

Logan is happy he decided to join baseball again this year

especially because his team name is the Giant's - his favorite!

Lucky Logan's name was picked during the raffle and

he won a new bat - he was so excited!

Youth Temple Trip

A great place to go with a bunch of cute girls!

Lawrence Livermore Lab

Logan and I recently went with his class on a fieldtrip

to the Lawrence Livermore Lab.

It was very interesting and we learned a lot.

Logan's favorite part was riding the bikes to generate electricity.

The computer kept shutting off while he was on the bike

so he had to start over several times.

He got a great workout!

Basketball Season

Logan had another fun season playing basketball this year.

He is very aggresive on the court and loves to play basketball.

Getting some pointers from dad during half time, but wishing mom wasn't taking a picture :)

Golden Gate Bridge

For a youth activity we went to San Francisco to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge.

We started the day off at IHOP...

and then we were off to the bridge.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day in San Francisco. It was the first time I have ever walked across the whole bridge. Any time I have been there before we only walked until we couldn't stand the cold anymore and would turn back.

We all had a great time!

Brownlee Fieldtrip

I recently went on a great fieldtrip with Logan. We road on this boat down the Delta. It was a beautiful day and we learned a lot.

They broke the kids into four groups and rotated around the boat being scientists for the day.

In Logan's first group they threw a net in the water to see if they could catch any fish.

They pulled the net out of the water themselves and caught some very cool fish.

Being the scientists that they are they had to figure out the names of the fish they caught.

Next they put a little net in the water to catch some plankton which they looked at under a micropscope to learn about all the little things that live in the Delta water.

I think Logan's favorite section was when they pulled mud up from the bottom of the Delta and discovered what lived in the mud.

The instructors told the kids to put the mud on their faces. Of course Logan went the extra mile and put it all over his face :)

Ringing In The Near Year

Preparing the traditional New Year's Eve dinner -

little pizzas, punch, pigs in a blanket, etc. etc. etc.

This year we actually went a little untraditional and celebrated on Thursday night so we party before the last of our visiting family returned home. The kids weren't too sure about this change, but it worked out great and they seemed to be able to still celebrate like it was New Year's Eve...
