Blue and Gold Dinner

Logan was excited to create another cake for the Blue and Gold Dinner this year. He was very patient as he frosted the cake - the sides were hard, but he did a great job. The theme this year was "100 years of scouting".

After talking over a lot of different ideas Logan settled on a camping theme since camping is such a big part of the scouting program. Putting the leaves on the trees took a lot of time.

The cake is supposed to be decorated by the cub scout and his dad. They had a lot of fun coming up with creative ideas together.

The finished product!
I love the m&m ladybug on the tent and the chocolate rocks.

Happy 2010!

Every year we bring in the new year at Grandma and Grandpa Gwilliam's house. This year our cousins from Texas were able to join us in the celebration. At the strike of 12 (New York Time or even a little earlier) we break out the hats, shoot silly string and make as much noise as possible.

Merry Christmas

Santa found us...

He brought Kaitlyn a camera and Bop-it...

Logan got a Nintendo DS

(but apparently if Santa were real it would have been a black one?)

We got a lot of new games this Christmas.

Aunt Michele and Uncle Don came all the way from Ohio
and played lots of games with us.

Logan gave Kaitlyn Othelo.

Kaitlyn gave Logan a chess set

Logan gave dad a new Nerf gun. He wasn't sure he wanted him to have a rapid fire gun or not, but decided the Vulcan could handle the competition.

Uncle Don was very nice to help Logan work on his chess skills.

Our Christmas placecards.
They turned out very cute thanks to Kaitlyn and Martha!

Many rounds of Liars Dice were played too.

It was the first Christmas in years that Mike was able

to be with his mom and sister.

We all had a nice relaxing Christmas day together!!!

Christmas Eve

We had Christmas Eve dinner at Grandma Jackie's house this year
and then returned home for our traditional Christmas Eve activities.
Kaitlyn and Logan opened one gift - pajamas and
then headed out to the front yard to leave food for the reindeer.

Next we read Luke 2.
This year we didn't act it out (no audience).
And finally - sleeping potion!
It worked pretty well this year -
no one had any trouble falling asleep!

Logan Turns 9!

Logan could not figure out what this big present was,
but was happily surprised when it turned out to be a
Vulcan EBF-25 (serious Nerf gun).
He received other Nerf guns also which spurred on some
serious family Nerf gun battles.

(Aylish, Connor and Logan)

After opening presents we ate pizza.

We had planned a miniature golf party,
but since it was raining we went to plan B - Bowling!

It was a wild party - but turned out fun!

For one last picture I told them I wanted a shot
of them being crazy, they were more than happy to do it!!!

SNOW in Antioch!

I woke up this morning and turned on the news.
They said there was snow in Danville.
I told Mike I wish there was snow in Antioch.
He called me a little while later as he was driving to work
and told me there is snow in Antioch.
I told the kids to hurry up and get ready -
we were going to go play in the snow!
LOOK - there really is snow!

We didn't see much at first,
but kept driving to see what we could find.

It was beautiful and the kids had so much fun.
You can tell by Logan's face he is starting
to get really cold.

Wonder why Logan was getting cold?
Such a Californian in the snow.

Of course we were late for school, but hey
how often do you get to play in the snow in Antioch!

Thanksgiving

We had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving
at Grandma and Grandpa Gwilliams house.
Enjoying football and appetizers

Kaitlyn loves to help Grandma make the rolls.

Logan can't wait to get his hands on some turkey!

Grandma taught Kaitlyn how to crochet.
She learned how very quickly.

Fall Leaves

Our neighbor has a big tree that we get to enjoy every fall.
Kaitlyn and Logan love to rake the leaves, jump in them,
bury themselves in them and throw them up in the air.
