Logan had a great time playing on the school volleyball team this year.
He couldn't have been more excited when their team won the championship!

Senior Project

Kaitlyn started her senior project with Grandma's help.
She has to learn or teach a new skill that is service related.
Kaitlyn's plan is to make scent dolls for premature babies.

Grandpa even helped out with the project.

Kaitlyn did a great job with her project - I just wish I had
taken a picture of one of the dolls before she sent them off to Kaiser Hospital.

"Kaitlyn's Car!"

Just like most teenagers Kaitlyn started asking for a car when she was 15 - using many different tactics!

As Mike would tell you we didn't buy Kaitlyn a car, but Mike and Karol bought a car that Kaitlyn uses :)

Mike and Kaitlyn looked around a little bit at cars, but we didn't work that hard at it.  Mike found one he liked, but it was a stick shift.  That made Kaitlyn and I nervous so we passed.

A few weeks later Mike was getting work done on his car and they had one for sale that Mike really liked.  An older lady was selling it and had a folder that she kept all the information of what had been done on it.  The price was right, good condition - stick shift again.  I still wasn't sure so Mike and I went and test drove it without saying anything to Kaitlyn.  We decided to go for it and brought it home to surprise her.

She was a little excited as you can see...

The next day she was driving in the church parking lot.  Two days later out on the rode.  Within 2 weeks she was driving to seminary and school with no problem.  Now she drives everywhere and loves it.  She looks awfully cute in "our" car!!

We were so excited to have Bruce and Denise and family here for Christmas.
Denise bought matching Christmas pajamas for the boys and girls.
Fun way to start off our Christmas Eve.

Christmas morning - ready to see what Santa brought.

Megan's not to sure about the book she got called, "The Accidental Marriage"??

Thank You

We had to add one more place to our list of Christmas Cookie
deliveries this year...the Fire Department!

Only one of the firemen that came to our house was still working at our fire department, the others have been transferred to different locations.  But I was so glad he was the one still there.  He was my favorite!  He was the one that busted through our gate while Logan and I watched.  He was the one that came over to me when he could tell how sad I was and gave me a hug.  He told me that I had a beautiful home and was so sorry for what had happened.  He could not have been sweeter to me.

As we gave them cookies and a thank you note he told us he could still remember my face and how sorry he felt for me.  Then he wanted to show us a picture on their wall.  The firemen came back a few hours after the fire looking for some tools they had lost while they were at our house.  I remember seeing one of them take a picture of our flag.

They framed the picture and put a little plaque underneath it.
I cut off the plaque in the picture for the blog because they put our address on it, but this is what it says...

Incident Type:  Working Garage Fire
Incident Location:  (our address)
Incident Number:  (don't think I 'll put that either :))

E88 ARRIVED ON SCENE TO FIND A WELL INVOLVED GARAGE ON FIRE.  THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED WITHOUT DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR OF THE RESIDENCE.

THE AMERICAN FLAG WAS DAMAGED PRIOR TO THE ARRIVAL OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND WAVERED BEAUTIFULLY REGARDLESS OF THE HEAT IT SUSTAINED.

With our thank you note we gave them a picture of our family in front of the flag.
He said they would frame it and put it next to the picture they have of our flag.

We can never thank them enough for saving our home.
It was a nice way to end this whole experience!
