Believe it or not...

that is a cast on Logan's arm. I recently posted an entry about our new trampoline. I stupidly wrote that we had no injuries yet - the next day, yes I said it, the very next day I had to eat my words as I was driving Logan to the emergency room.
Here's what happened...we happily put up our new trampoline on a Saturday, I posted it on our blog on Sunday, when Mike got home from work on Monday we decided to go play on the trampoline. I was jumping with Mike and Logan, when one of them suggested we play "crack the egg". Logan and I were the eggs, Mike jumped to crack one of the eggs and lets just say it was a success! Logan and I went flying in the air and I landed on Logan - he started crying right away and it wasn't a good cry. I tried my best to calm him down and to get his mind off of it hoping it would all go away, but no such luck.
The x-rays showed it was broken.
Fortunately he only has to have the cast on for 3 weeks so he won't completely miss the rest of soccer season.

Logan did not like the "For Sale" sign in front of the trampoline idea, he tore it up as soon as the photo shoot was over. We are keeping the trampoline, but you might ask, Karol, have you gotten back on the trampoline yet? My answer - heck no!

Daddy Daughter Camp Out

As you can see we were all very excited for the daddy daughter camp out

and all of the yummy marshmellows!!

This is us looking for the things on our treasure hunt
that they handed us when

we got to the campsite. It had things like Pine Cones, Fern, Worms.....

After the long hike and treasure hunt we all decided to go to the bathroom............

Or Not

Then we ate.... and ate because we were really hungry..... and we wanted s'mores!

Finally it was time for the marshmellows

Dottie and the Turtles

Our neighbor Bob works at a grocery store and is very
nice to give us all the leftover or out-dated lettuce for our turtles. Now that
we have put our bunny outside she eats the lettuce too!
She is so cute!

Dottie and Shelly

that's Tomy

After Dottie left it was just the 2 monsters tackling the huge pile of lettuce!

Tomy and Shelly

The one on the left is a little bigger than a dinner plate, and I can't even pick
up the one on the right.

Some Assembly Required...

Mike decided it was time to take down the
playset and put in a trampoline.
When we emptied the boxes we weren't too
sure it would actually happen.
We all got in on the assembly process.

But who ended up doing most of the work?
You guessed it - Mom and Dad.
OK, mostly Dad, but I did my share too.

Sweet Success!!!

No major injuries yet - but we'll keep you posted

Meeting Jack

I was lucky to be able to go up to Idaho with my parents to meet
my new nephew Jack. Kaitlyn sent along a hat she made
for him - it was a perfect fit.

Jack is so little and so sweet.
He was held the entire weekend because everyone wanted their
turn to hold the baby. I'm sure I held him more than my
fair share, but I loved it and so wish they still lived
in California so I could hold him all the time.
Macy and Jack were able to share their big days together.
Macy was baptized and Jack was blessed on
the same day.
Macy looked beautiful and so grown up!
It was great to be able to share the day with them.
Tyson was so excited to see Grandma -
he couldn't get to her fast enough.

Tyson loves his cousin Macy!

Lindsey would let me know when I was holding
the baby more than I should - she wanted her turn too.
But who can blame her when he is so cute!!!

Back To School
Kaitlyn is starting 7th Grade and Logan is starting 3rd Grade. They were a little nervous on the first day - but fortunately they both came home happy! Kaitlyn's school is now requiring uniforms. So far she has been very positive about wearing them - she will be expressing herself with her hair and shoes this year. I think she looks very cute in her uniform. Logan is sure he has the meanest teacher in the school, but after the first day he said she might not be as strict as he thought. Keep your fingers crossed it stays that way.

Our first day of school "Chalk Board Brownies" tradition continues.

Logan is planning on attacking 3rd Grade this year!

KAITLYN GOT BRACES

Before

After

Kaitlyn started phase 2 of her braces yesterday. The big decision was what color rubber bands to choose. She went with a summery pink and green.Yesterday she did great, but today she is starting to feel the pain and wishing she didn't have to go through braces again. But with Motrin, frozen yogurt and 12-14 months we know we will all be happy with the results!

Play Ball!

Logan is just about to wrap up another season of baseball. This year his team name is the Ports. He has the same coach and a lot of the same players he has had for the last three years. They have a great time together and have only lost one game so far this year. Monday they play against the team they lost to so they are very excited to prove who is #1.

Logan is very lucky to have his grandparents come to the games and cheer him on. Grandpa was giving him a few pointers during the game.

I tease my brothers about bribing their kids to play well, but I now do it myself. During one game I wanted Logan to be more aggresive when he was up at bat so I went over to the dugout and told him we would get ice cream if he hit the ball. The next time he was up he hit a pop fly that was caught. When he came back in the dugout he ran over near the bleachers and yelled, "Hey mom does that still count". All the parents in the bleachers started laughing because they knew I had bribed him for a hit. I told him it counts and they all cheered. Now when Logan gets up to bat the parents ask me what he gets if he hits the ball or they say that hit deserves two scoops.

On the way to one game Logan was asking if he could earn ice cream again, I said yes, but what's the most important part of the game and he said, "I always have fun when I play mom". What more could you ask for.
