The Amazing Missionary Race

The Deacons planned a great joint activity for the youth this month.
It was a combination of The Amazing Race and a missionary prep night.
Once the youth were put in their companionships they raced to perform different activities they would need to do on their missions.  Such as...

polishing shoes

Checking the tire pressure on their bikes

If the tire pressure wasn't right they had to pump up the tires.
They also had to adjust the seat to the right height for them.

Graciously eat food they might not typically eat.
They had to eat vegemite on a cracker - they all handled it really well.

They also had to learn how to say they were representatives
of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
in another language and a few other things I can't remember now.
The kids all seemed to have a great time and learned something in the process.

Logan dug out Mike's nametags from when he was a
missionary and they wore them during the race.

Hard to believe Kaitlyn and Logan are so close to being missionaries!

Geography Bee

One day Logan came home from school and told me he won the Geography Bee in his class and was moving onto the next level.  I didn't realize until a few days later the "next level" was the whole school.

Logan was a little nervous.
He said his goal was to make it through the first round.

Not only did he make his goal.
He got 3rd place!

We were all impressed that he did so well and not sure
how he gained all this geography knowledge.

He won a trophy, ribbon, and t-shirt.
